Dominant Target Report

The Dominant Target report locates the targets with the highest concentration in each analysis area.

It shows where your primary target consumers live. After you select the analysis areas to include, the report identifies the largest target within the analysis area. For example, you can find the counties of a state in which a specific target dominates. If you analyze the target group “Education” using counties, the penetration of each target, such as “Mostly Retired,” is analyzed. Each county in which the proportion of “Mostly Retired” households is greatest, compared to other targets, is assigned to the target in the report.

For any target group you select, the report shows the individual targets in the group, with subtotals for each target. The report matches each analysis area with the specific target that dominates it.

Below are the common uses of this report:

  • Identify the analysis areas in which a selected target comprises the largest proportion of households.
  • Review the data in the target columns to compare the composition of other targets for any analysis area.
