Profile Segment Consumption Report: Specify a Profile and a Sort Method
On the Step 2 screen, specify a profile(s) to use for the report and a sorting method and direction for data.
Additional considerations:
- Use the Search function to locate your desired profiles.
- Use the Save List button to save your selected list profiles for future use.
- Use the My Lists button to load a previously saved list of profiles.
- A maximum of 90 profiles can be selected.
- You can include data on counts of each profile within an analysis area.
- Segment descriptors can be included in your report data
NOTE: The available options may differ depending on the selections that you have made on the previous screen, your device, and/or your screen resolution.
After verifying your selections, click Next to proceed.

NOTE: Depending on your screen resolution or device, some of the options mentioned below may not appear on this screen and you may need to go to the next screen to complete the process. Simply follow the instructions below to set those parameters or refer to the Help provided for the next screen.
- On the Step 2 screen, navigate to and select the profile that you want to use for the report. You can also use the Search function to look for your desired profile.

(Optional) To include data counts of each profile within an analysis area, perform the following steps:
- Click the OFF button next to Analysis Area Profile Projection to set it to ON. By default, this feature is OFF. Additional options for specifying an analysis area and projection data set appear below.
- In the Select an Analysis Area box, navigate to and select your desired geography or area. You can use the Search function to locate your desired geography or area.
- Below Select a Projection Data Set, select the data set that you want to project your profile(s) against. The options are Households (ZIP+4 Based), Five Year Households (ZIP+4 Based) and Households (ZIP+6 Based).
NOTE: If you license ZIP+6 level distributions, it is generally recommended to select Households (ZIP+6 Based) as your base, as this level provides a greater level of granularity for the segment distributions than the ZIP+4 level.
- Specify a method to use for sorting data in the report. The options are:
- Segment Code - Sorts data according to segment codes.
- Report Selection - Sorts data based on your specified profile, measure, and subtotal method.
- (Optional) If you selected Report Selection as your sort method, you need to specify a sort profile and sort measure.
- Specify your preferred sort direction. The options are Ascending and Descending.

If you selected Report Selection as your sort method, you need to specify a subtotal method for sorting the data in your report. The subtotal method options are:
- None: No method is applied.
- Equal Ranges: Groups areas (rows) based on the values of a specific variable – Each subtotal group will have an equal minimum/maximum range for the specified variable.
- Equal Records: Uses basic division to group the number of areas (rows) equally – Each subtotal group will have an equal number of areas.
- n-Tile: Distributes the total number of households in an area into groups that are approximately equal, such as fourths or fifths. Dividing data in equal portions ranks the analysis areas by marketing potential, in groups showing the strongest to weakest.
- Target Group: Uses target groups to group the records.
- If you selected the Equal Ranges or Equal Records subtotal method, you need to specify the following:
- Number of ranges: In the Select the number of ranges drop-down list, click your desired number of groupings.
- If you selected the n-Tile subtotal method, you need to specify the following:
- Number of ranges: In the Select the number of ranges drop-down list, click your desired number of groupings.
- Subtotal measure: In the Select a Subtotal Measure drop-down list, click the desired measure to use for equal grouping.
- If you selected the Target Group subtotal method, you need to specify the following:
- Target Group: Below Target Group Tree, Navigate to and select the target group you want to use for grouping.
- (Optional) If you would like Segment Descriptors included in your report data, check the box(es) next to the descriptor(s) you'd like appended.
- Click Next to proceed.
