Profile Builder
The Profile Builder tool allows you to do the following:
- Create custom profiles from your own customer address file.
- Import a profile from a prepared file that includes columns for segment code, summarized base counts and summarized profile counts for each segment.
Additional factors to take into consideration when creating profiles:
- File format - Profiles can be uploaded in any of the following formats: .CSV, .TXT, .XLS or .XLSX. Profiles for import must contain numeric columns to define segment numbers, base count(s), behavior count(s), and optional consumption values. Each consumption values column must have an associated behavior values column.
- First row in the file - The first row must consist of column headers that contain only letters and numbers (special characters like "<>/" may cause errors).
- Customer count column(s) - The customer count columns must contain the actual profile counts for your customers; each count must be a numeral, or a numeral with a number-related symbol (for example, plus symbol (+), minus symbol (-), comma, etc.). (Numerals can contain decimal points.)
- Column heading character counts - Ensure that the character count of each customer count column's heading, combined with the character count of the file name, does not exceed 80 characters.
- Profiles containing more than 100 columns - If your profile contains more than 100 columns, any columns beyond the first 100 should contain only behavior or consumption data.
To create profiles, you need to do the following:
- Specify the source file to use for creating profiles.
- If you select to upload your customer file, upload your file and then proceed to the next step.
If you select to use a previously saved customer file, select your desired customer file and then proceed to the next step.
If you select to upload a segment summary file, select the segmentation system that you want to use, specify if your file contains consumption data, upload your segment summary file, and then click Create Profile. You have completed the steps in creating profiles. - Specify the segmentation system to use to create your profiles, the geographic level to use to summarize customer counts, and the profile base to use.
- Save your geosummary areas to create a base analysis area, name your profile, and click Create Profile.
When the job has been submitted, you can view the profile generation status on the My Jobs screen. The generated profiles are also
